HKIA Arts & Culture Festival 2024 - Traversing Past and Present

Description

Inspired by the local elements of the fabric streets of Sham Shui Po, Cherie created a series of gongbi paintings, including flowers, birds, and monkeys with a classical flair, bonsai’s on window sills, ubiquitous tile patterns, and literati curios and displays. These paintings, inserted in a rich palette of colours and patterns, bring joy to the audience for selection and visual studies. Meanwhile, Jack animated these works using arts technology, adding an ingenious vital touch by creating a custom website through augmented reality (AR) and motion graphics design. Viewers can make their own choice of painting, colour and pattern to craft an animation of their own.
